BREAKING
THE SILENCE
1 in 4 women have been raped or sexually assaulted in their lifetime.
5 in 6 survivors of sexual
violence never report it.
While the world sings silent night, silence is anything but peaceful for survivors of sexual violence.
Sexual violence lives quietly in homes, workplaces and in relationships and this season, too many women are living alone with their trauma, carrying truths they feel unable to speak.
WHAT WE’RE DOING TO HELP
Breaking the silence is how we turn trauma into truth, and truth into action. At Rape Crisis South London we create spaces where survivors feel believed, supported and free to speak — while calling out the culture that keeps them quiet. Your donation keeps that going
-
Breaking silence doesn’t have to be loud; sometimes it starts with just one person. Whether privately or publicly, survivors deserve to be heard and believed. Our free, trauma-informed talking therapy gives survivors the space to speak their truth without fear of being disbelieved and heal from the harm — on their own terms, at their own pace.
-
Ending sexual violence starts with education — and with the courage to have difficult conversations.
Our training and prevention programmes work with schools, universities and workplaces to challenge rape myths, shift attitudes and dismantle the systems that allow sexual violence to persist.
-
Through our advocacy, campaigns, and communications, we amplify survivor voices and demand change — in culture, in policy and in everyday conversation. We share survivor stories, inspire others to speak out, and challenge the narratives that keep sexual violence misunderstood and minimised.
