Getting the Most Out of Your Run

Set a target that works for you. A first 5k and a marathon both raise money. Choose the distance that fits your fitness and your training time, not what looks most impressive.

Train with a purpose. Tell your sponsors what you're working toward, a personal best, a first finish, a distance you never thought you'd manage. It gives people a reason to back you beyond the cause alone.

Fundraise before race day, not just after. Set up your JustGiving page as soon as you register, so people can sponsor your training as well as your run.

Wear your T-shirt with pride. Once you've raised £100, your RCSL shirt becomes a talking point on race day itself, and a chance to explain why you're running.

Tell us how it went. Share your finish time, your fundraising total, or just how the day felt. Tag @rapecrisis.southlondon and we'll celebrate with you.
