London’s Victims’ Commissioner Andrea Simon visits Rape Crisis South London
On Thursday 17 September, Rape Crisis South London (RCSL) welcomed London’s Victims’ Commissioner, Andrea Simon, to meet with survivors, staff and trustees and hear directly about our work supporting women and girls affected by sexual violence.
The visit brought together survivors, staff and trustees, creating an important opportunity to share perspectives from across the organisation — from lived experience and frontline service delivery to leadership and governance.
Discussions explored some of the barriers facing survivors, the pressures affecting specialist sexual violence services, and the importance of ensuring women and girls can access the right support when they need it.
A key focus of the conversation was the role of survivor voice in shaping services, policy and wider responses to sexual violence.
For RCSL, creating opportunities for survivors to speak directly with those influencing decision-making is an important part of ensuring lived experience remains at the center of change.
We would like to thank Andrea for taking the time to visit RCSL, listen to survivors, staff and trustees, and engage with our work.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and advocating for better outcomes for survivors.
